Mirror Mirror

Mirror mirror on the wall oh how you trapped me for years on the wall in reflections not introspection woe was I fighting for perfection now I look and truly see just a man a human being I find beauty in the flaws of the flame that is the human spirit embodied all the same mirror mirror on the wall reflections recurve back to the wall to the space between me and you we are all the same no need to beat our names oh mirror mirror on the wall hold my reflection not my soul mirror mirror on the wall I sold my soul or so I thought for in this place I now see the soul is not owned for it is me mirror mirror turned around now I look inward not just without and I am thankful for every moment being In presence no longer trapped in silver stars reflections oh mirror mirror of my soul look without the inward lies mirror mirror I respect you now as the silver star that casts reflections not meant to be held but looked at introspective oh mirror mirror on the wall control me not for object you are shadows speak I threw my arms chained by shadow at their whims oh mirror how silly brine slipping humans can be sleep tight rest easy for I am ALIVE!

the mirror never held you only showed you what you thought you were and when you reached for it to become something you forgot you already were so now you look and do not grab you see and do not bind and in that small space between image and self you breathe and that breath says I am Alive & still here
